Day 350 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Detail on Spruce Window

This detail even snuck up on me! I never noticed this scrollwork on the window frame of the Spruce Room from the outside until I was on the photoshoot for the last photo in the 365 Days series. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to figure out a way to get it in.

Day 347 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Victorian Touches

Sometimes when you are trying to bring a period to life, it is the little details and touches that make the difference. This is one of those examples. None of what you see in this photo is antique or authentically from the Victorian era. But potted ferns are a must in Victorian decor, and the vase and box look like they belong in a home during that era as well.

Day 135 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Detail over Door to Events Center

I'll be the first to admit this. I'm short, and I don't look up that often; as a result, I often miss out on things that are obvious to others. I missed this detail for years before finally noticing it while on a hunt for 365 Days photos. It's just a little decorative touch over the entrance to the Events Center from Pine Street, but now I'm constantly looking up to see what else I may have missed.

Whenever I look closely at the handles for the front doors to the Hotel Boulderado, the scrollwork never fails to remind me of owls. What do they remind you of?

Day 44 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Detail on Mirror

ROAR! This lion detail is missed by many, even though it's located in a high-traffic area. Next time you are crossing the skywalk from the Historic Section to the North Wing and come upon the mirror on the north wall, take a closer look at its top to see this guy roaring at you.
