There are some odd things around the Hotel Boulderado that clue me in to certain pastimes. One is the football pool, seen here, that lives in our basement.

This is a shot of the staircase as it descends into the basement of the Hotel Boulderado, nowadays known as the Catacombs Bar.

At first glance, you may think that we confiscated a patron's bicycle and are raffling it off. In reality, you can sign up for the CataCard at Catacomb's Bar in the basement of the Hotel Boulderado, receive happy hour prices whenever you visit, and can be entered in a weekly drawing. The bicycle is just one of the lucky prizes!

Day 130 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Radiators

When the Hotel Boulderado opened in 1909, radiators like the ones you see here were in each guest room to heat the room using steam. The steam was generated from the furnace in our basement, which was tended 24 hours a day by men shoveling coal in to keep it going.
