Day 342 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Wallpaper in Reservations Nook

This is one of the softest and gentlest wallpaper patterns we have at the Boulderado. It has been used in guest rooms as well as the nook for the Reservations Department and the Business Center.

The pattern on this upholstered chair in Room 300 with the pattern on the wallpaper behind it looks almost as though they were planned to go together!

Day 259 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Tri Pattern

One thing the Victorians absolutely loved was patterns. Something they loved even more was combining patterns. The Hotel Boulderado, having been built and opened during the Victorian era, strives to keep decor that would pleased the Victorians. Which is why you can find multiple patterns in one place quite a bit. Here, I found three different floral patterns all in the same place -- the west area of the Mezzanine.

Day 250 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Upholstery Pattern and Wooden Roses on Sofa

I just love how the upholstery pattern on this sofa works so well with the roses carved into the wooden frame.

Day 212 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Curtain Pattern

Here is another gorgeous, rich pattern I found here at the Hotel Boulderado. This is actually a drawn curtain with the swag set on top of it.

Day 158 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Dueling Carpet Patterns

What you are seeing here is more than just two carpet patterns meeting. The red side is the Historic Section, and the blue leads you over the skywalk and into the North Wing.

Day 97 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Wallpaper Pattern in 316's Living Room

This particular wallpaper pattern always makes me think of the lickable wallpaper Willy Wonka had in his chocolate factory -- though I don't think you'll find any snozzberries here.

Day 36 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Sales Office Wallpaper

Another dose of intense patterns for you today! The above photo is a close-up of the wallpaper found in the front part of the Sales Office. Some people say they feel like "eyes" are watching them, others are reminded of Horton Hears a Who. What do you think?

Day 33 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Carpet Pattern in 306

One thing you have to notice about the Victorian decor found at the Hotel Boulderado is the abundance of patterns. The Victorians loved having patterns on everything -- patterned wallpaper, patterned curtains, patterned upholstery. In the words of one long-time Boulderado employee: "Patterns on top of patterns on top of MORE patterns." I thought it would be fun to share some close-ups of some of the patterns here at the Boulderado, and I'm starting in an unlikely place -- the floor.

The above photo is a close-up of the carpet in one of our Presidential Suites, 306. It will be retired and replaced later this month, but as one last farewell, I wanted to use it as the start of another sub-series within the 365 Days of Boulderado Photos, the pattern series.
