Day 364 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ 360 Cubby
Most people who know me know I work out of a closet in our office, Cubby. I wanted to share what it looks like, but it's a tough spot to photograph! I finally settled on a 360 degrees shot that lets you see everything at once. To view it larger and in more detail, visit this link.

Day 363 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Boulderado Double Daylily
As my 365 Days photo project comes to a close, I've been reflecting on what I DIDN'T manage to photograph and share. At the top of this list is a blooming Boulderado double daylily. Ruth Schultz, who cultivated the Boulderado Double Daylily, generously gave us some bulbs that we planted on Spruce Street. Last summer, they sprouted and grew but didn't mature before winter arrived. I had hoped to be able to share a photo of them blooming, and I haven't given up on that hope, but it will come to late for the 365 Days of Boulderado Photos.

Day 362 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ iPod Docking Station
One thing I've learned working at a historic hotel is that whatever up-to-the-minute technology you have will become obsolete, like our radio. With that being said, I am very excited about the latest round of upgrades taking place in our guest rooms. We have begun the process of swapping out the alarm clock radios and are replacing them with models that you can plug your iPod into. Eventually (and inevitably) these will become obsolete, but for the meantime, I know our guests will love them!

Day 361 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Lobby Floral Arrangement
Every time I feel the "winter blues" coming on, I force myself down to the lobby and focus on the beautiful fresh flowers Living Interiors bring in each week. How can you look at them and NOT think of spring?

Day 359 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Stained Glass Ceiling Sprinkler Head
When I give history tours, I say, "There are sixty 2" by 2" panels, each of which contains about 42 pieces of glass." Using simple math, you would assume there are 2,520 pieces, right?
Wrong. Embedded in the stained-glass are sprinkler heads poking their way in, as you can see in the photo here.

Day 356 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ John Platt's Library
If you're aspiring to be the next Chef John Platt, this is a great way to get started. These are just a few of the cookbooks and guides John has in the Q's kitchen. What better way to get inside a chef's head than getting a sneak peek at his library!

Day 355 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Catacombs Stained Glass
This is from my favorite spot in Catacombs. I loved it so much I celebrated my 23rd birthday under it -- over a year before I started working at the Boulderado!

Day 354 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Mezz Railing Refinishing Booth
This makeshift booth has been making its way around the Mezzanine as the railing refinishing project continues in preparation of wedding season. It keeps the sanding noise and refinishing lacquer smells to a minimum. Can't wait to share the finished project with you!

Day 353 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Plaza Fountain
It's about this time of year I start wishing for winter to be over so the warm weather and flowers will come back to Boulder. I saved this photo of the fountain on our Plaza to remind me that seasons do change (eventually) and soon enough the Plaza will be flooded with green, purple, pink, yellow, and blue.

Day 351 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Victorian Card
Happy Valentine's Day! This is a wedding card located in one of our display cases on the third floor of the Historic Section at the Hotel Boulderado. Just too perfect NOT to use today!

Day 350 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Detail on Spruce Window
This detail even snuck up on me! I never noticed this scrollwork on the window frame of the Spruce Room from the outside until I was on the photoshoot for the last photo in the 365 Days series. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to figure out a way to get it in.

Day 349 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Detail on Typewriter
This is a closeup shot of the typewriter located in our modern-day Business Center. And even though it says "Silent," it still works!

Day 347 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Victorian Touches
Sometimes when you are trying to bring a period to life, it is the little details and touches that make the difference. This is one of those examples. None of what you see in this photo is antique or authentically from the Victorian era. But potted ferns are a must in Victorian decor, and the vase and box look like they belong in a home during that era as well.

Day 346 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Corner Bar Signs
The Corner Bar has it's own fair share of history here at the Hotel Boulderado. Before it was a bar, it was used as a barbershop and the Western Union office for the city of Boulder. Next time you are drinking a martini or chowing down on late-night nachos, pause to reflect on the history just one small space at the Boulderado has been witness to.

Day 345 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Business Center Typewriter
Many hotel guests find our Business Center helpful, whether it's to write an email, print a boarding pass, or check the weather on a destination. What they usually don't expect to see is the subject of this photo -- an antique typewriter. And it still works!

Day 344 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Caution Tape on Mezzanine
If you have stopped by the Boulderado in the last week or so, you may have noticed some "CAUTION" tape on the Mezzanine. Don't worry, this isn't a crime scene for a Murder Mystery! The railing on our Mezzanine is being refinished over the next several weeks. The top of the railing in this photo has already been completed. Isn't it beautiful?

Day 342 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Wallpaper in Reservations Nook
This is one of the softest and gentlest wallpaper patterns we have at the Boulderado. It has been used in guest rooms as well as the nook for the Reservations Department and the Business Center.

Day 340 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Daily Camera Announcement
This was another photo I had to sneak into the general manager's office for. (I've noticed that I have to sneak to a lot of places in the 365 project . . . Just call me the Boulderado ninja!) This is a copy of the paper from January 1st, 1909, announcing the Hotel Boulderado's opening and reporting on our open house.

Day 338 of 365 Days of Boulderado Photos ~ Exterior in February
With this photo, I'm beginning to feel things start to come full circle in this 365 Days project. On the first day of each month since March, I have been taking a photo of the Hotel Boulderado from the same spot at about the same time of day, to show the different seasons, weather, and light that the Boulderado greets each day.
